FAQs
How do I know if I need therapy?
Therapy can be started at any point in life, even when things are good. It can equip you with tools that will make a crisis easier to handle. Clients usually start therapy when feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low-mood, stuck, or struggling with everyday life and relationships. Therapy provides a safe space to explore your thoughts and emotions.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I work integratively and holistically, combining the following approaches: client-centered, EFT, Gestalt, NeuroAffective relational model (NARM), attachment theory, existential, and body-oriented psychotherapy.
What can I expect from a session?
As I practice a client-centered approach, you, as a client, bring what is important for you to each session. I’ll ask about sensations in your body (without any physical contact), the present moment, and what emotions are coming up, for example. We’ll use our relationship as a blueprint to experience new ways of being that can then be applied to your daily life and relationships.
Do you offer in-person or online therapy sessions?
Yes, I offer both in-person therapy at my Copenhagen office and secure online therapy sessions via Zoom. Online psychotherapy is a convenient option for clients with busy schedules or limited access to transportation. You’re welcome to create a hybrid approach, combining both in-person and online sessions, or choose one format continuously.
Is therapy confidential?
Absolutely. Therapy is a confidential space. Everything you share remains private. I followed the ethical guidelines provided by Dansk Psykoterapeutforening.
How long does each therapy session last?
Most therapy sessions last around 50 minutes. However, as it is an organic process, some sessions can be a bit longer, and some shorter. I always recommend blocking 60 minutes in your calendar.
How often should I come to therapy?
Typically, clients have weekly or bi-weekly sessions, especially in the beginning. Later on, once a month is also quite common, of course, all depending on your finances as well. We can discuss the frequency that works best for you during your initial session.
How much does therapy cost?
My standard rate is 1100 DKK. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss your needs. Sliding scale options are available if you’re studying or currently unemployed - the price is 900 DKK.
Do you accept insurance?
As a private clinic, I do not accept public healthcare/insurance or referrals from your doctor. Some private insurance companies cover mental health. Please check with your insurance company to learn more.
What issues do you specialize in treating?
I specialize in helping clients with anxiety, depression, CPTSD, relationship issues, self-esteem, and life transitions, to name a few. Each treatment plan is personalized to your unique goals and challenges.
How do I book a therapy session?
You can use the booking system directly.
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
In your first session, I’ll take the time to get to know you, and we’ll talk more about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit to work together.
What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?
That’s okay—every therapist and approach is different. Therapy is a deeply personal experience, and finding the right fit can make a big difference. I invite you to explore it again in a safe, supportive space.
What are my options if I have a concern about my therapy?
Continuous client feedback is encouraged as it can benefit the therapeutic relationship. However, you can always reach out to Dansk Psykoterapeutforening if you have any concerns, complaints, or need support managing issues regarding the therapy you’re receving.
